Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, also known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain a level gauge for each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by a number of means, including using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged to boost their value.
Upgradable items can be found all over the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The primary method to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components which are components that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots that can be upgraded and some require a certain amount of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses while others provide a general bonus.
There are many types of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be used in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can only be placed in gathering tools and provide a variety of bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing extra crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. It will display the expected statistics after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as Blocked if you do not have enough of either.
The number of upgrade components needed for a specific item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of upgrading increases with the level of the upgrade and its rarity, however it can be reduced by many different methods, including purchasing upgrades from a retailer or trading them with other players.
Many weapons can be improved by adding a prefix, like a rune or an insignia. Some can be upgraded by adding an suffix. These upgrades add an adjective to the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are a way to convey information via visuals. They animate to capture the attention of the viewer and stimulate interest in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs can also increase the likelihood of remembering messages by creating an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by certain amount. This is shown on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is the maximum value that a glyph can improve a stat by, not the amount that it actually increases it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and the quality of the item you are in awe of.
The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items are not able to be repaired or replaced without removing the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you do have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
You can take out the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will destroy the item that it was installed in, but you can recover the upgraded item using the glyph and its fragments, therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.
A glyph added to an item could cause it to be unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you dismantle the item. You can also apply the glyph to your equipment to add an additional benefit. For instance the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly instead of all at one time. This is useful for players who suffer a lot damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens permit players to alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment and can be found in various ways, including in mistery boxes, as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an unspecified affix, which is usually better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items don't appear in the menu of upgrade options, however they can still be upgraded. If improve items click the "upgrade button" you can recycle the rerolled items. This will change the appearance of the window for the item, and allow up to six items be selected for recycling. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is by the rarity of the item and its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-leveled ones.
Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls roll a percentage chance of a weapon's traits. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolling is a fantastic option to upgrade an item. However, players should be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is diminished by the number of the rerolls required to bring it to the final level. This reduction effect is most effective for ring items and Diadems, which have no other options for raising ilvls.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's more fair to allow players to pay for it with cash or food items, which will allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. However, paid rerolls are not something the developers want to incorporate at this point in the game's development. Instead, they're planning to add an ability to change races in the near future.
Leveling
There are many ways to increase the level of an upgrade to an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade that increases the value of an upgrade for a given stat. The second option is to boost the effect of the upgrade, which boosts damage or healing for the stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel, but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
When you upgrade items It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades are not guaranteed. Most of the time, a higher roll is determined by glyphs. However, there are times when a more or unique roll can occur. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a special item type, it has a chance of gaining an additional level.
Upgrades can be costly, especially if you are upgrading equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The cost will depend on the item's iLevel base and the number of upgrade levels it has. Some upgrade tracks also require crests in order to get to the next level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item could reach the maximum level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional benefit. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level however. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by +3.
The iLevel can also change in accordance with the item's upgrade path and base level. For example an item that has been upgraded from a unique or rare to an extraordinary item will have a chance to gain the Enhanced Defense of the base item type.
